Education

I have always loved learning, and coming into college as a declared Secondary Education Concentration, I hoped to love teaching as much as I loved being a student. Through Geaux Teach STEM, I have gained classroom experience planning and teaching lessons, creating materials, and supporting student learning that have affirmed my desire to pursue this path. I have also learned to actively reflect on my practices so that I can improve instruction and make mathematics engaging, accessible, and meaningful for all students.

Solving Equations Lesson Materials

Made instructional materials for a lesson on solving equations. Incorporating student whiteboards centered the instruction around academic feedback. Differentiation included tiered examples, adjusted pacing, and a color-coded anchor chart.

"Mathematics as an expression of the human mind reflects the active will, the contemplative reason, and the desire for aesthetic perfection. Its basic elements are logic and intuition, analysis and construction, generality and individuality."
