Theatre
I fell in love with theatre at a young age, but it wasn’t until high school that I fully immersed myself in it. Theatre lets me express myself, explore characters and storylines, and find joy in the details. Being part of the process, whether it be through designing, performing, marketing, or analyzing, has helped me build confidence and embrace bold, creative choices. The creativity, confidence, and attention to detail I’ve gained through theatre also inform my teaching, helping me create engaging lessons and think flexibly about math.

Community Theatre Marketing Plan
Completed a semester-long project culminating in a video presentation. Used a fictional community theatre production of Cabaret to demonstrate setting measurable goals, planning, and audience-focused communication.

Analysis of 'night Mother
Reported on ’night, Mother by Marsha Norman, examining how the playwright’s choices contribute to a unifying pattern. Focused on elements such as selection, sequence, and tempo to demonstrate close reading and analytical writing.

Scenic Design Packet
Designed the scenery for a conceptual production of Machinal. Demonstrated research-based planning through a design statement and visual communication through images, floorplans, and a to-scale physical model.

Designed the costuming for a fictional production of Machinal . Conducted research on the themes and time period of the play and used that to develop a cohesive vision, focusing on how color and structure could reflect character.

Classroom Acoustics
Researched and synthesized data on how poor acoustic conditions can negatively impact learning in a K-12 classroom. Combined my knowledge of education and Sound Science to propose solutions that benefit teachers and students.
